Public platforms
When the result has to be trusted by people who were not in the room, the software has to show its working.
We design platforms for clubs, boards, councils, unions, and other institutions that make decisions in public. The work usually has more than one kind of user: someone who runs the process, someone who takes part, and someone who needs to review it afterwards.
A platform like this is bespoke even when the idea is familiar. Membership rules, timings, what an officer is allowed to touch, and what must stay on the participant’s own device are all part of the conversation — we write those rules down with you rather than hand over a generic tool.
The same care shows up in the engineering. PublicVoting, which we designed and built, keeps ballots on the voter’s device, keeps the officer console from casting votes, and writes the decision record to an append-only log. Branding can change. Those rules do not.
Hosting is optional. Some organisations want a lease of a running system. Others want the code, which in that project is open source, and the freedom to run it themselves. We’re happy to talk through either.
