Knowledge websites
Sometimes the job is not one website. It is a whole library of them, and a way to find anything in it.
The Measey network is a large example of this. measey.com is a search across a confined-photon research programme. Around it sit sites for electrodynamics, light, gravity, atoms, materials, medicine, teaching, history, and a catalogue of open questions. Each site has its own subject; they link to one another, and the search sits over the top.
Building a family like that is different from building a single brochure site. The pages have to stay readable, the claims a site makes have to stay findable, and a new site has to join the set without breaking the old ones. We’ve delivered exactly that: a body of public websites, each with its own front door, working as one library.
We bring the same approach to a company, a lab, a publisher, or any group that has outgrown a single site. You might want one calm homepage and a dozen specialist ones, or a search that treats the whole collection as one library. We’ll help you decide which, based on how your audience actually looks for things.
The subject matter on those sites belongs to that research programme. Our part is the software: the pages, the search, the way the sites fit together, and the discipline that keeps a claim on one site consistent with every other page in the set.
