Stillroom

A walk around a guest room for hidden cameras. It will not tell you the room is safe.

Stillroom walks a hotel room or a short-stay rental for hidden cameras. It is a phone web page, used on its own or inside a small Android app. A desktop only explains the check. The camera work needs the phone you will carry. A session is one room: start a new check, continue the open one, or reopen an earlier one. Do the walk before you unpack, and cover the door viewer with tissue or tape first. The steps are a short brief, a look at sixteen places, an infrared pass in the dark, a flashlight sweep for the pinpoint a lens throws back, names from the Wi-Fi list and the Bluetooth picker, a magnetic pass when the phone has that sensor, a mirror test, and a review.

It helps a guest look. It does not interfere with a camera, it does not probe other machines on the network, and it will not tell you the room is safe. A finished check means the checks a phone can do were completed. Some cameras never show up on a phone at all, including one that only writes to a memory card. A dark infrared picture is not proof the room is empty, and the pinpoint scan is not a probability that something is a camera. Screws, glitter, and mirror edges throw light back too. Nothing is uploaded. The check, the notes, and any photos stay on the phone. From the review you can save stillroom-check.txt or share that text. If something worried you, the note says to leave the object in place, leave the room, write down what you saw, call the police, and not confront anyone.
