Police powers
Common police encounters in England and Wales, with the statute text the notes are tied to.
Police powers is an Android app for common encounters with the police in England and Wales. For each encounter it shows the powers the statutes give the police, the position those statutes give the person, and the sections the notes are tied to. The notes are not legal advice. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different police powers. Codes of practice and case law are not stored here.
Statute text comes from legislation.gov.uk, which The National Archives publishes under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The phone does not call that site. It downloads one library file from an archive. A note stays confirmed only while the anchor phrases it was written against still appear in the fetched section. If an amendment removes those words, the note is marked as no longer confirmed and the new section text is still shown.
